We regard our research center as a meeting place that facilitates the building of bridges between academia and wider society. We conceptualize and implement projects of socio-ethical relevance, aiming to contribute to strengthen a sense of community among all people in our society.

CoLaYoCha

Young people between 16 and 18 years of age can actively shape their living environment outside of the school context and develop creative solutions to social challenges.

A Book for Breakfast

In this event series, we juxtapose different books on current social debates by concisely presenting their arguments in the form of an essay. Together, we develop new ideas and engage in discussions – in good company and with coffee and croissants.

Social Pathways Guide

In the summer of 2019, the first “Sozialroutenplan” (Social Pathways Guide) was published, providing basic information about counselling services and assistance programs in the City of Salzburg. Its aim is to function as a reference for people in difficult situations to quickly find help for their problems and needs.

A Future-Oriented Mentoring Initiative for Children

Students of the University of Salzburg volunteer to mentor socially disadvantaged children and youth. In weekly meetings, they support their mentees in their learning processes at school as well as in other social contexts.

Student traineeships at the ifz (Erasmus+)

The International Research Centre for Social and Ethical Questions (ifz) offers traineeships in the fields of science and public relations supported by the Erasmus programme of the European Union.
