P. Virgil Steindlmüller OSB

Father Virgil Steindlmüller is pastor in Abtenau, Annaberg and Lungötz and director of the parish association Lammertal.

Born in Prien am Chiemsee, he entered in 1998 the seminary of the archdiocese of Munich-Freising and began his studies in theology at the University of Munich. In 2002 he entered the Archabbey of St. Peter in Salzburg, where he received the monastery name „Virgil“. In 2007, he laid the perpetual profession, three years later he was ordained a deacon. The priestly ordination was received by Archbishop Alois Kothgasser in 2011 in the collegiate church of the archabbey. When former Prior Korbinian Birnbacher was elected abbot in 2013, he chose Father Virgil as the new prior, the youngest of the 22 confreres.

With February 2017 P. Virgil took over the office of the parish priest of the Parish Association Lammertal belonging parishes Abtenau and Annaberg. He is also a founding member of the platform „Armut hat Platz„, which was set up in February 2014 in Salzburg and is dedicated to the support of beggars.
