Gaisbauer Helmut P.

Helmut Peter Gaisbauer holds a doctorate in political science and has been the head of the ifz board of directors since September 2017.

Since 2011 he has been working at the Center for Ethics and Poverty Research at the University of Salzburg as a Senior Scientist. He works on socio-ethical questions about the good life for all – especially from the perspective of disadvantaged people. He replaces Clemens Sedmak, who continues his teaching career in the USA and is now head of the ifz scientific advisory board.

Helmut P. Gaisbauer was born in 1971 in Linz, studied in Salzburg and lives with his wife and two sons in St. Georgen near Salzburg, where he is also parish councilor. He has been working at the University of Salzburg since 2002. In addition to the new challenge at the ifz, one thing remains the same: the workplace in the Edith Stein House with the beautiful address Mönchsberg is home to both the ZEA and the ifz. For this reason, and from the previous close-knit cooperation, the new president and the staff of ifz are familiar.

Helmut P. Gaisbauer is supported by four board members: Martin Dürnberger (Department of Systematic Theology and Head of the Salzburg University Weeks), Michael König (Managing Director of Diakoniewerk Salzburg), Father Virgil Steindlmüller OSB (Stift St. Peter, Parish Association Lammertal) and Margareta Strasser (Head of the Language Center of the University of Salzburg).
