Elisabeth Buchner studied Political Sciences and Sociology at the University of Salzburg. She joined the ifz as a research fellow in October 2013.
In 2018, she spent ten months in Bolivia to conduct research. From September 2021 to April 2022, she is on sabbatical leave.
Her research interests are at the intersection of sociology, political science, and philosophy. She focuses on intersections of empirical social research (quantitative and qulitative methodologies, evaluations, action reseach) and applied ethics.
In her current research, she focuses on academic supervision and evaluation in the following fields:
- Strengthening skills & labor market (re-)integration of welfare recipients
- parent education for educationally disadvantaged families
- social and labor market integration of asylum seekers and persons entitled to asylum.
In the context of the EU project RE-InVEST , which was completed in May 2019, she was also responsible for conducting participatory action research in Austria.
