Leßmann Ortrud

Ortrud Leßmann has been working at the ifz since August 2015 in the project Re-InVEST. An economist by training she has received her PhD for a thesis on multidimensional poverty measurement in Oldenburg (Germany) in August 2005. Her research interests lie in the overlap of economics, sociology, philosophy and education. She has published widely on issues such as poverty measurement, child poverty, justice and sustainability, decent work and socioeconomic development on an international scale. She is an expert on the capability approach and engaged as a member of the Human Development and Capability Association (hd-ca.org). She further is a member of the management board of Re-InVEST and has been involved in the European network Alliances to fight poverty from which the project Re-InVEST emerged. In 2011 und 2014 she stayed as a scholar in residence at the ifz.
